Sanskrit, Shiva & Sutras: A Mythic Yoga Workshop with Travis
Saturday,14th June
Join Travis Chambers (E-RYT 500, Sthira Yoga Academy) for a rich, immersive yoga workshop
blending language, myth, movement, and philosophy.

•Fascinating facts about Sanskrit as a vibrational and phonetic science.
•Guided worksheet: use a simplified Sanskrit alphabet grid to form 2-syllable words using

2. Sutras in Daily Life: The Wisdom of Patanjali
•Explore how the simple word-building exercise leads into discussion of key sutras (e.g.,
pada → Yoga Sutra Pāda 1).
•Reflections on sthira sukham asanam, the purpose of practice, and the real work of yoga.
•Group discussion and journaling prompts.
3. Shiva & Shakti: The Kriyas of Cosmic Union
•A short seated kriya and breath sequence to awaken the energies of Shiva
(consciousness) and Shakti (power).
•Transition into storytelling.
4. Mythology & Movement: From Story to Asana

rebirth.
•Introduction to Virabhadra and the birth of Warrior Pose.
•Asana Lab: breakdown of Virabhadrasana, and other myth-infused postures like
